Hello lovely readers!
Is anyone else getting a little bit of whiplash knowing we’re two months from the end of the year? Because I definitely feel like I am.
WindyCon
I’ll be attending an In-Person Science Fiction Fantasy Convention this coming weekend, Nov 10 - 12, 2023 in Oakbrook, IL called WindyCon.
I’ll not only have the trilogy for sale, but some of my other craft creations - paintings, a couple rune sets, necklaces, keychains and pins. If you’re in the area, you should definitely stop on by. If you already have the books, I’m happy to sign them for you if you bring them. If you don’t have the books, it’ll be the perfect opportunity to snag a set of the trilogy in paperback.
Norsevember
November is starting to be come known as a lot of things these days, but one that resonates with the heart of the trilogy is Norsevember. It’s a reading event in which we talk about, recommend, read and review Norse inspired books.
My co-author, Marie Sinadjan, wrote up a whole post about Norsevember, with a compilation of Norse inspired books to dive straight in to. A lot of the books look amazing, and I have several already on my TBR pile to dive into shortly.
NaNoWriMo
National Novel Writing Month, the other big title for November, started on the 1st, of course. If you’re unfamiliar, it’s a month where you strive to write a 50,000 word novel over the course of 30 days, which breaks down to about 1, 667 words a day if you write for all 30 days.
Naturally, this is a challenge for many people because November is near year’s end, there’s Thanksgiving, etc.
I’m slow going so far, because I’ve been prepping for WindyCon, but I’ve committed to a re-write of an older novel of mine so I can get it re-written, polished, and published by early 2024.
The working title is Firespark Festival.
I’m super excited to finally write it and finalize it for publication. I’ve been tooling around with it since 2015, but after sitting on it and publishing the trilogy my writing has come a long way. If you’d like to follow me over on NaNo’s site, I’m MerisCorner over there. Feel free to end me a buddy request, I’m always happy to cheer people on.
