Hi Everyone!
I turned around and we’re at the tail end of October, with Halloween only a day away. I’m not sure how we are so close to the end of the year and where the year went.
Well, that’s not entirely true. I lost September with some cat mom worries - my boy ended up having some heart issues, ended up in kitty ER for a few days, and then had to see a cardiologist. They were able to say yes, he has heart disease, but it’s early stages and so long as we keep him on some meds and keep a weathered eye on him he should still have many good years yet. So it’s been a little stressful but thankfully it’s okay news for him. My boy below (yes, his belly was shaved during the ER visit and it’s taking some time to regrow)
New Release!
Shadow and Fang: A Galactic Agency Story
When Rowan’s grandmother misses her check-ins, will Rowan arrive in time to uncover the truth?
Living off-grid on a remote forest planet, Lily’s regular check-ins with Rowan and her mother are crucial. So when she misses not one, but several, it sends up a red flag. With her mother worried, Rowan embarks on a solo mission to Verdigris to ensure her grandmother is safe.
But when Rowan arrives, Lily’s cabin stands eerily empty and the surrounding wilderness whispers with danger. The only help? A mysterious, dark-furred Lycan—exiled from his pack and shrouded in secrets. With time running out and trust hanging by a thread, Rowan must navigate the wilds of Verdigris to uncover what truly happened to her grandmother... before it's too late.
Shadow and Fang is a SciFi retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, with a strong female main character and space werewolves. This is a standalone short, but is set in the same universe as ‘Stardust and Steel’, which is found in the Among Thorns and Stardust Anthology.
Next Live Sighting
My next in-person show will be at Windy Con, Nov 2-10, 2024 in Oak Brook, IL
If you love a good Sci Fi Con, this is a good one to attend, outside of the vendors, they have workshops that you can attend, an art show to see some beautiful art and bid and try to win, and guest speakers.
I did decide for my sales table, the Octipie I made need their own little container for the table, so they now have their own little ocean painted box.
What Am I Reading?
It’s been a little of a whirlwind the last few months, so most of what I’ve been able to get through has been audiobooks. I’m still chipping away at The Witches of Hollow Cove because there are 15 books in the series and I’m starting book 12 shortly.
Mom and I are still using Dresden as our travel audio, so we’re slowly making our way through that series - we traveled to my Great Aunt in Ohio and that got us through White Night and into Small Favors a little before we made it home.
I also found The Coven and The Cursed while in Ohio because the edges were sprayed, and it caught my eye when we hopped into Target for something. It was a really good duology.
Not to be left off but Rise and Divine has me sad that as far as I’m aware it is our last dip into Thistle Grove, but I have loved my time in the town and with the witches that reside there.
What’s Next?
Now that the Little Red Riding Hood short is out, see above Shadow and Fang, I’m working on a romantasy dragon shifter novel. The dragon shifter novel will be its own unique universe, and I have a couple books planned for that universe, following the royal family. Our first book will follow our heir, with subsequent books following his siblings as they find their mates. So definitely keep an eye out for that in the next few months.
