Hi Everyone!
I know I’ve been a little quiet the last few months. It’s been a little bit of a whirlwind with the end of 2024 - Thanksgiving, a work trip to NOLA (which was amazing - see below for a small collage), I got sick (and am still sick), and then I lost my orange baby boy, PT to the rainbow bridge and just kind of lost a lot of my will to do much in grieving. And then January felt like a whole year in a month.
So here we are now in February, which is a little mindblowing. We’re already a month into the new year. But I feel like barely any time has passed at all. Though with everything going on, that’s not really a surprise.
What’s on My Desk?
I was hoping to have my dragon shifter book out by now, but with the whirlwind of everything going on, my brain kind of crapped out and I’m very behind. But I am slowly getting back to it and it’s coming along slowly.
Have a little collage of where we are in the draft of the book.
What Am I Reading?
My reading has been a little all over the place from cute and cozy reads to dark romance and stalkers and serial killers to shifter and paranormal. My brain is 100% a mood reader brain so no matter what may be popular - yes Onyx Storm is judging me from my living room table for that statement - it rolls where it wants, but it’s the way my brain rolls.
New Releases!
While I don’t currently have any new releases, there are some wonderful new releases that you should check out from some amazing Indie Authors.
Valentine’s Day in Mistletoe Valley
After the disaster that happened during Valentine’s Day the year before, Riley Bishop wants nothing to do with this particular holiday. She doesn’t want to decorate or participate more than is necessary as the local bookstore owner.
Will things change when her best friend Krista ropes their other friend, Colton, into helping out with the decorating? As they spend hours together without anybody else around, Riley starts to realize that she likes Colton as more than a friend. But does he feel the same way?
A few days later, she finds a secret admirer gift left behind on her check-out counter. Inspired by the gift, Krista convinces Riley to take part in the town events – like the speed dating event held at Colton’s bar - in hopes of drawing out Riley’s secret admirer.
The Last Girls On Earth - Book 5: Lust
An outlaw.
A liberator.
A captive.
Only the strongest will survive.
Raven's reunion with an old face and unexpected allies causes trouble in her group of runaways. Phoenix takes to the streets to fight against oppression, but being a hero doesn't come so easily to her. Karissa finds herself questioning whose side she's really on.
But for all three girls, love is about to make or break them.
“If your mer loves you, your legs will fuse and sprout scales and fins. Your neck will split with gills.
If he doesn’t love you, you will dissolve into foam atop the ocean and disappear forever from the hearts and minds of all who truly did.”
Denmark, 1837. The circus comes to town with its trumpeting elephants and dazzling trapeze girls. Tucked away in the back, the freak tent showcases its own shocking displays, from a bearded lady to a dwarf . . . to real, live mermaids.
But the mermaids keep dying, and it is the Ringmaster’s daughter Arløgh who must bury the dead and fish for the next.
Only this time, her hook snares a merman. And his presence in the circus is about to change everything.
What are your 2025 reading goals? What are your most anticipated releases for this year, or at least this quarter of 2025? Leave me a comment and let me know!
As usual beautifully written… I’m looking forward to the finished novel. The pictures in the collage are intriguing!
